Closures
Closures are devices that are used to fasten gar ments securely. They are designed for a variety of holding purposes and can be decorative as well as functional. They can be the focal point in a garment design, to enhance the look of the garment. The type of closure selected depends on the design and use of the garment, and the care, weight, and type of fabric. Closures include the following:

Buttons are three dimensional and available in a wide variety of natural or manufactured materi als, including pearl, wood, bone, fiber, fabric, glass, jewels, plastic, steel, and other metals. But tons can be covered with fabric or other materials to complement a garment. Buttons are available in a range of sizes and shapes. There are two types of buttons:

The flat or sew-through button that has two or four holes for attaching the button to the garment.The shank button has a metal, fabric, plastic, or thread extension...
