Sew What: Kids Fashion Summit Empowers Children to Unleash Their Creativity

The MP Global Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to empowering children and fostering their independence, hosted an extraordinary event, the Sew What: Kids Fashion Summit, on May 7th, 2023. This transformative summit provided children with a unique opportunity to explore the world of fashion, learn essential life skills, and ignite their creative spirits.

Led by renowned fashion designer Mila Pershyna, alongside the reigning Mrs. USA, the Kids Fashion Summit captivated young minds as they delved into the process of fashion collection creation. The children were immersed in a hands-on learning experience, making mood boards, sketching ideas, choosing fabrics and colors, and ultimately designing and constructing their own tote bags. Through this interactive approach, the MP Global Foundation emphasized its commitment to directly involving students in the learning process, promoting independence and self-expression.

Beyond the realms of fashion, the Kids Fashion Summit imparted invaluable life skills to the participants. As they gained knowledge of machine sewing and hand sewing techniques, the children also developed patience, focus, creativity and of cause made new friends.  The event proved to be a powerful platform for building confidence and nurturing the young attendees’ talents, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and believe in their capabilities.

Thanks to the unwavering support of dedicated volunteers and generous sponsors, the Kids Fashion Summit was an overwhelming success. Volunteers selflessly dedicated their time and expertise, ensuring a nurturing environment for the children to learn and grow. The sponsors’ generous contributions provided essential resources and materials, enabling the young participants to embark on this transformative journey.
