Patch Pocket

Patch pockets are both decorative and useful and are most often part of the design for shirts, blouses, dresses, and jackets. They are made from a single layer of fabric that is hemmed and sewn to the outside of the garment with a finish suitable to the fabric. Patch pockets can be square, rectangular, pointed, or curved and can be decorated with braid or other trims.
Note: Because patch pockets are attached to the outside of the garment, they must be made carefully and accurately to enhance and not detract from the garment's finished look.

Cut the desired patch pocket shape and size needed for the garment design. In the video I created a pattern size 7"x5"

2. Fold over the top edge of the pocket 1/4" inch and edge stitch.

3. Turn the facing allowance along the foldline, correct sides together. Pin in place.
