MP Fashion School is found and established by Mila Pershyna, FASHION DESIGNER AND EDUCATOR, WHO IS EAGER TO SHARE HER KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE AFTER WORKING IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY FOR 20 YEARS.

Mila Pershyna, CEO/founder/designer of MP Fashion, former Regional Director of Fashion Group International of Detroit (FGI), is a driven entrepreneur who is fiercely determined to make a great impact in the world of fashion and to build resources to give back. MP Fashion has evolved from one woman’s dream to the creation, design, manufacturing and marketing of a USA made and nationally sold contemporary women’s brand.
Mila Pershyna earned her BS in Linguistics, MA in Fashion Design and Merchandising and certification in Fashion Law from Fordham Law School. Having attained extensive knowledge in all aspects of the fashion industry and retail management, additional industry experience was gained while working at Diane von Furstenberg New York.
In 2013, Mila Pershyna launched “Maternity and Beyond” outerwear made in Michigan that was sold on Zulily, Smartbargains and Amazon. This contemporary line was designed to empower women with a sense of confidence and personal expression while reflecting the pride that comes with motherhood. “Maternity and Beyond” is a unique line that mirrors the non-maternity market for the fashion and budget-conscious woman and allowing her to go comfortably from pregnancy to post-pregnancy and vice-versa. Later, Mila Pershyna expanded her line to sportswear becoming a contemporary Ready-to-Wear (RTW) brand made in the United States, specializing in styles for the fashionable and active city woman. Each style is designed with the versatility to take a look from day to night. Featuring traditional fits and luxury fabrics, the company offers unique and quality products at an attainable price.
As the company evolved, it moved its operations to a local commercial facility and established apparel production, and offered work opportunities and internships to the Michigan community. Along with expansion, Mila Pershyna opened her professional services and resources to fashion professionals in areas of design and product development that include pattern making, prototyping, fitting, grading, digitizing and consulting.
Standout accomplishments include a debut of MP Fashion brand during September New York Fashion Week and a feature in British Vogue The show was welcomed by countless fashion bloggers, media and press. Mila Pershyna received critical acclaim for her timeless yet innovative designs.
Outside of designing, mentoring and growing the business Mila Pershyna dedicates a significant amount of time to local volunteering and charity work. In 2016 she joined a board of directors of the global non-profit corporation- Fashion Group International Inc.(FGI) and later became Regional Director of FGI Detroit Chapter to promote, support and help develop local talents, provide resources and raise awareness of Michigan-made brands, designers, stylists and beauty specialists.
Market – Knowledge of the consumer market; obtaining information from relevant sources to identify changes in target markets through research of demographics, geographics, psychographics and behavior.
Trends – knowledge of a direction in which fashion is moving.
Design – Knowledge of the design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, samples and models.
Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, sourcing, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective production and distribution of goods.
Administration and Management – Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Distribution and Marketing: Wholesale and Retail – Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products. This includes marketing strategies and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and etc.
Retail Management – Knowledge of the day-to-day store operation; providing strong leadership to the team in order to execute sales operation, generation, visual, and human resources functions in the store, to ensure customer satisfaction, maximum productivity and profitability, and compliance with store procedures; analyzing sales results and creating action plans.
